Fish stores aren’t the only place to purchase fish. In the above video I talk about reaching out to other aquarium hobbyists to get fish that, for whatever reason, your local store may not carry.
Why Buy from Local Hobbyists?
There are a few reasons that make buying fish from local hobbyists a good choice. For one, many times it is much less expensive than buying from a store. In the video I tell you about the awesome deal I got when buying cherry shrimp. It’s also a great option if the fish stores do not have a fish you are looking to purchase. Third, it has the potential to be quite a bit less stressful on the fish because they spend a lot less time bagged up and they don’t have the long transport times that some fish have to endure.
